Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cup rava


  • 1/2 cup curd


  • 1/2 tsp baking soda


  • 1/4 tsp salt


  • For sambhar..1 cup arhar dal


  • 2 tomato chopped


  • 1/4 cup chopped bottle gourd


  • 1/4 cup chopped ladyfinger


  • 1/4 cup chopped pumpkin and brinjal


  • 1 tbsp tamarind pulp


  • 1 tbsp sambhar masala


  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1/2 tsp red chilly powder


  • 1/2 tsp salt


  • 1 tbsp ghee


  • For tempering....1 tbsp ghee


  • 1 tsp mustard seeds


  • 6-7 curry leaves


  • 1/2 tsp urad dal


  • 2-3 whole red chilly


  • For chutney....1/2 cup grated fresh coconut


  • 1/4 cup roasted bengal gram


  • 3-4 green chilly


  • 1 tsp oil


  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds


  • 3-4 curry leaves

Directions

  • For idili batter...mix rava and curd and make thick batter by adding water
  • Add salt and keep it covered for 5mins
  • Add soda and stir it and pour one spoon batter in greased idili mould plates
  • Cook it in idili maker
  • For sambhar...Pressure cook dal along with salt and turmeric in a cooker for two whistle
  • Heat ghee in a wok and add chopped veggies and tomato and stir fry for 2-3 mins
  • Add red chilly powder,sambhar powder and salt in it
  • Add cooked dal in it and add turmeric pulp and water,adjust the consistency
  • For tempering heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds as it crackle add curry leaves,red chilly,urad dal and cook for a while and addin sambhar let it simmer on low medium flame
  • For chutney grind coconut,green chilly roasted dal,salt to a fine paste
  • Temper it with mustard seeds,red chilly and curry leaves
