Ingredients

Serves 4

  • 1 cup yellow moong daal

  • 1 cup rice

  • 4 tbsp desi ghee

  • 1 dry red chilli

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds,

  • 1 pinch asafoetida

  • 1 pinch red chilli powder

Directions

    Wash daal and chawal properly.

  • 02

    In a cooker add daal, rice, salt, and 9 cups of water.

  • 03

    Cook till one whistle and wait to release the pressure.

  • 04

    Heat desi ghee in a pan, and roast asafoitida, cumin seeds, and dry red chilli.

  • 05

    Turn off the gas and add red chilli powder.

  • 06

    Sprinkle it on khichdi.

  • 07

    Serve hot with extra desi ghee.
