Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 1 cup idli rava


  • 1/2 cup kabuli channa


  • 2 cups water


  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds


  • 1/2 urad dhal


  • 1/2 teaspoon hing


  • 1 pinch turmeric powder


  • 1 pinch ginger garlic paste


  • 1/2 handful curry leaves


  • 2 green chilli


  • 1/2 teaspoon salt or as per taste


  • 1 chopped onion


  • for fenugreek buttermilk: 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds


  • 1/2 teaspoon curry leaves


  • 1/2 teaspoon roasted fenugreek powder


  • 2 cups butter milk and salt to taste.

Directions

  • take oil in a pan add mustard seeds urad dhal hing and turmeric powder and let it splutter then add curry leaves and make it crisp.
  • now add green chilli and water , make the water come to a boil .
  • Grind the idli rava to a fine powder and add to boiling water.
  • add salt to taste for the idli rava .
  • to this add soaked boiled mashed kabuli channa with salt to taste and mix well and serve.
  • This dish can be served with fenugreek butter.
  • method to make butter milk is
  • add 1/2 cup of thick curds and two cups of water . to this add 1/2 teaspoon fenugreek powder and mix well with salt.
  • once mixed add a tadka or curry leaves hing and mustard seeds . the curds will not make the methi powder butters it’s yum.
