Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • Urad dal- 3tbsp


  • Rice- 9tbsp


  • Salt - 1/2tsp 1/2tsp 1/4tsp


  • Tomato- 1 2


  • Onion- 1small 1small


  • Capsicum- 1/2


  • Coriander leaves- 1tbsp chopped


  • Oil - 3tbsp to cook


  • For samber tuar dal- 3tbsp


  • Ladies finger- 2 small


  • Haldi- 1/2tsp


  • Red chili powder- 1/2tsp


  • Samber powder- 1tsp


  • Oil- 1tsp


  • Curry leaves- 1spring


  • Mustard- 1/2tsp


  • Cumin-1 tsp


  • Red chili- 1


  • Hing- 1/4tsp


  • Lemon juice- 1tsp

Directions

  • Clean and soak urad dal- and rice for 1 to 2 hours.
  • After that grind to a smooth paste. Let it ferment for some hours
  • Clean and add tuar dal- in pressure cooker.
  • Also add chopped onion, chopped tomatoes, salt, haldi, red chili powder and cook for 2 whistles.
  • Heat little oil in a Kadai, add red chili and mustard and cumin and let it crackle
  • Now add Hing to it.
  • Add cubed bhindi to it and let it cook.
  • Now add boiled dal to this and also add samber powder and mix.
  • Finally add lemon juice and salt to it if needed.. samber is ready
  • For uttapam.. chop onion, tomato and capsicum
  • Bring out the batter and add salt to it and mix properly.
  • Heat a tawa and pour a small ladel of batter to it. Spread the chopped veggies on top and sprinklittle salt to top.
  • Cover and cook the uttapams adding little oil.
  • When the down part is cooked, turn it and cook.
  • Similarly cook all the uttapams
  • Serve hot with a bowl of pipping hot samber
