Ingredients

Serves : 5
  • LITTIS; 2 cups wheat flour


  • 1/2 teaspoon ajwain


  • 2-3 teaspoon curd


  • 1/2 cup Water to knead the dough and a pinch of salt


  • FILLING; 1 cup Sathu flour/ roasted gram flour


  • 1/2 teapoon mustard paste


  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


  • 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves


  • 1 tablespoon curd


  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped


  • CHOKHA; 2-3 potatoes


  • 2-3 tomatoes


  • 1 onion finely chopped


  • 1/2 inch ginger crushed


  • 2-3 cloves of garlic, crushed


  • 2-3 green chillies crushed


  • 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala


  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder


  • 1/4 cup coriander leaves, chopped finely


  • 1 teaspoon salt


  • Juice fo 1 lemon

Directions

  • Make littis: In a bowl mix all ingredients mentioned, crush carom seeds between palms before adding. Mix them all well.
  • Add water and knead a semi soft dough. Cover and set aside.
  • Place potatoes in a microwave dish, keep a cup of water in the centre of the dish. Cook in microwave for 5-7 minutes on high. Remove the skin and mash the potatoes.
  • Make crisscross slits on the tomatoes and place them on a microwave safe dish. Cook in your microwave oven for 2 minutes. Peel the skin and crush them.
  • Add the seasonings and other ingredients mentioned in the list to prepare chokha
  • Make filling; mix all the ingredients mentioned in the list, add tablespoons of water if required to bring the mixture together. It should form a ball if pressed between palms
  • Assemble by taking a lemon sized ball of dough, make cavity and stuff a teaspoon of the filling. Pinch from edges and seal the dough.
  • Preheat oven @200°C
  • Place 6-8 balls at a time on a lined baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes
  • Remove the dish and flip the balls upside down and again keep in the microwave for another 7-8 minutes
  • Once you see the cracks on the littis, it means they are cooked from inside.
  • Remove from oven and serve with prepared chokha.
