Ingredients
Serves 8
2 cup Rava
1 cup Yogurt
1 pinch Baking Soda
5 tbsp Water
1/2 inch Ginger
1 or 2 Green chilies
3 to 4 tsp Ghee
2 to 3 pinch Oregano
Salt as required
for design chopped carrot, peas, corn and coriander leaves 1/2 cup
Directions
Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan. Add rava to it and roast it till it become aromatic and changes color.
Keep on stirring while roasting.Once done keep aside.
Take a microwave safe bowl add 2 tsp oil in it and heat it. Add mustard seeds, chana dal, curry leaves and asafoetida. microwave it for 3 minutes till the chana dal become golden.
Add this whole mixture to the roasted rava. Add yogurt along with chopped ginger and salt. Add water as required to make the batter which is neither thin nor thick.
Keep aside and cover it for 20 minutes. Add water if required to make a batter of medium consistency.
Heat water in a microwave idili maker and grease the moulds. add baking soda in the batter and mix it well.
Pour the rava idli batter in greased idli moulds. Place the idli stand in the steamer and steam the rava idlis for 5-7 minutes or more till a toothpick inserted in the idlis comes out clean.
Remove the rava idlis from the mould and serve the steaming hot rava idlis. Enjoy these rava idlis with your favorite chutney.
Note: Design the idlis as per your choice.
