Ingredients
Serves 3
1 KG Chicken cleaned and cut
250 gms All purpose flour (maida)
2 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 tablespoon garam masala
1/2 tablespoon red chili powder
1/2 tablespoon turmeric powder
1/2 tablespoon Salt (or for taste)
1 raw egg
1 lemon
1 packet oats (1 kg preferred)
1 litre oil (palmolean , or any veg oil. Ideally any flavourless oil)
1 tablespoon Ginger-Garlic paste
1 tablespoon Shallot paste
Directions
Clean chicken in running water thoroughly. Avoid fat, liver and neck. Make slices with a knife in the chicken so that the marination gets a bit inside the flesh.
Mix maida, corn flour, red chili powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, and salt in a bowl and mix well
Add egg, ginger-garlic paste and shallot paste to this and mix untill it becomes semi thick.
Mix the chicken pieces in this mix and make sure this marination is covered in chicken completely
Set aside for an hour (minimum 30 minutes)
Heat the oil in a fry pan
Take the chicken pieces one by one and coat with oats flakes
Fry in a batch or one by one, till it gets the goldencolor and flip. Make sure that all sides gets equally cooked.
Drain the oil using kitchen tissues and set aside for 5 minutes
Goes best with mayonnaise, tomato sauce or even coriander chutney. And enjoy KFC taste at home
