1 tablespoon oil
3/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
green chillies to taste, 1 chopped
1 large onion sliced
1 large tomato sliced
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/4 teaspoon salt or to taste
1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon white sugar
500 gms lauki, peeled and cubed
Put the oil in microwave safe dish and heat on microwave high power level for 2 minutes.
Drop in the cumin and green chillies. Continue to cook at the same power level for 2 minutes. Add the onion. Microwave 2 minutes.
Add turmeric, red chilli powder and tomato. Microwave at the same power level for 3 minutes.
Stir in the vegetable. Cover and cook at microwave high for 5 minutes.
Stand 3-4 minutes before adding the sugar and salt. The vegetable will have a slight bite to it.
