Ingredients

Serves : 12
  • 1 cups you will need: chocolate cake whip cream cherries chocolate flakes sugar syrup chocolate sauce kiwi and strawberries


  • 1 cups choc cake: butter


  • 1 1/2 cups sugar


  • 5 nos eggs


  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour


  • 3 tsp baking powder


  • 1/2 cups cocoa


  • 2 tbsp oil


  • 500 ml whip cream: whip cream


  • 3 tbsp icing sugar


  • 1 tsp vanilla essence


  • 2 nos chocolate sauce: bars cooking chocolate


  • 250 ml double cream


  • 1/2 cups sugar syrup: sugar


  • 2 cups water

Directions

  • Choc Cake: Sift dry ingredients together. in a big bowl beat sugar, oil and butter till its fluffy add one egg at a time and beat well till all done add dry ingredients and then mix well. Pour on a greased medium sized baking tray, bake on 170°C. When cake is done let it cool on a rack then cut horizontally, should have three slices. Whip Cream: Beat cream just before it forms peaks add icing sugar and essence and beat till peaks are formed. Keep in freezer. Chocolate Sauce: Melt chocolate and mix together with cream. Chocolate flakes: Melt chocolate on double broiler, then spread on wax paper. When its hardened scrap into shavings or curls. Sugar Syrup: If using canned cherries you do not need to make sugar syrup. Can use the canned syrup. Melt sugar in water and keep on boil till it bubbles, not to thicken it. How to Make Black Forest Cake: Lay one piece of cake on a platter, sprinkle syrup then all over it, apply chocolate sauce then whip cream and sprinkle cherry, strawberries and kiwi slices. Place another slice on it. Do the same for this layer, sprinkle sugar syrup, apply chocolate cream then whip cream and sprinkle fruit slices. Place the last slice, sprinkle sugar syrup all over the cake, apply whip cream. Sprinkle chocolate flakes all over the cake and on sides. Make whip cream rossettes and put a cherry slice on it then garnish however you prefer. Keep cake in fridge for atleast four hours before serving
