Ingredients

Serves : 6
  • 1 cups whole wheat flour


  • 1 cups instant oats


  • 1/2 cups chopped walnuts


  • 170 gms coconut sugar


  • 1 cups low fat milk


  • 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder


  • 1/4 cups oil


  • 1 tsp baking powder


  • 1/2 tsp baking soda


  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


  • 1/8 tsp salt

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 180 deg and line cake tin with baking paper
  • ground instant oats to powder and keep it aside
  • in a bowl sieve flour, cocoa powder salt, baking powder and baking soda
  • add ground oats to this mixture and mix well. keep it aside
  • whisk egg well in a bowl
  • add coconut sugar and whisk for 3 to 4 minutes
  • now add oil and Vanilla extract, whisk well
  • Alternately add dry ingredients and milk and whisk until just combined. add chopped walnuts and fold gently
  • Pour batter into prepared pan , level evenlyand bake for 25-30 minutes until done
  • Allow cake to cool for 20 minutes in pan
  • Demould and cool completely on wire rack
  • Dust with icing sugar, slice and serve
