Ingredients

  • 5 bokful/ Agasti Flowers


  • Gram flour/Besan 3tbsp


  • Rice flour 2tsp


  • Salt 1/4tsp


  • Turmeric powder 1/8tsp


  • Asafoetida 1/8tsp


  • Red chilli powder 1/4tsp


  • Baking soda 1/8tsp


  • Kalonji/kalo Jeera 1/2tsp


  • Oil 1/2cup


  • Water 1/4 cup

Directions

  • Wash the bokful & gently remove filament from each flower.
  • Keep them immersed in salt water for 10 mins. Drain & keep aside.
  • Take gram flour,rice flour,salt,baking soda,kalonji,turmeric powder, chilli powder,asafoetida in a mixing bowl.
  • Add a little water and make a smooth & slightly thick batter.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan.
  • Dip the bokful/agasti flowers in the batter, coat well & deep fry to a golden brown.
  • Remove the fried bokful/agasti flowers with a slotted spoon.drain on absorbent paper.
  • Serve hot with tomato sauce.
