  • for batter: 1/2 cup gram flour

  • 1 tbsp rice flour

  • 1/2 tsp salt or as per taste

  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder

  • 1/8 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1/8 tsp soda

  • 1/4 cup water or as required to make the batter

  • for stuffing: 60 grams grated paneer

  • 1 tsp fresh coriander leaves

  • 1 green chilli chopped

  • 1/4 tsp salt or as per taste

  • 1/4 tsp chat masala

  • for sandwich: 4 slices of white bread

  • 4 tsp green chutney

  • 2 tsp mixed fruit jam

  • 2 cups oil for deep frying


  • for making batter:
  • take a bowl, add gram flour, rice flour, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and water.
  • mix well and make a batter. make sure the batter is neither too thick nor too thin. add soda and mix well, keep aside.
  • take bread slices and cut the borders, keep aside.
  • to make stuffing:
  • take paneer, coriander leaves, green chilli, salt and chat masala. mix well.
  • now take bread slices and apply green chutney, 1 tsp on each.
  • spread mixed fruit jam, 1/2 tsp on each
  • place stuffing on one slice
  • cover with the remaining slice of bread
  • cut this into 4 equal pieces
  • heat oil in a kadai
  • dip the prepared sandwich into the batter, coat evenly from all the sides.
  • deep fry in medium hot oil until golden brown and crisp from all the sides
  • repeat frying the rest of bread pakoras
  • drain on a kitchen tissue and serve hot with ketchup
