  • 2 Cup rice flour

  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds

  • 1/2 cup dry roasted gram

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds

  • 1/2 cup ghee

  • 1 pinch asafoetida

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2 cup oil for frying


  • Tie the rice flour in a cloth and keep it in a small pan keep this inside a covered pan of boiling water for 5 minutes to steam
  • remove from pan. Grind the Gram and mix with cumin ,melted ghee ,salt, sesame seeds ,asafoetida and steamed rice.Knead together in a soft dough.
  • Use a Murukku press and squeeze out rounds into the hot oil
  • Fry them on both sides until golden, remove and drain the excess oil.
