Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 1 cup idli/dosha batter


  • 1 pinch baking soda


  • 1 pinch asafoetida


  • 2 pinch salt


  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder


  • 1/2 tsp jeera


  • 1 tbsp semolina/rawa


  • 1 tbsp rice flour


  • 1 onion finely chopped


  • 2 tbsp capsicum chopped


  • 2 green chilli chopped


  • 4-5 curry leaves


  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves

Directions

  • Take idli batter in a mixing bowl and all the other listed ingredients to the bowl except the oil.
  • Mix well to firm the batter to get a slightly thick.
  • Heat oil for deep frying when oil gets hot, using fingers take a small portion of the batter, shape it into a rough ball and drop it gently in hot oil.
  • Fry in medium flame and in batches until the bonda is nicely golden.
  • Transfer to a paper napkin to remove excess oil.
  • Serve hot along with any chutney with soup.
