Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 4 medium sized tomatoes


  • 1 onion chopped


  • 1 cup basumati rice


  • 2 spoon oil


  • 1/2 spoon each of shahjeera, jeera mustard somp


  • 3 cardamum


  • 4 cloves


  • 3 slit green chillies


  • 5 pods of chopped garlic


  • 1 cup frozed peas


  • 1/8 spoon of turmeric


  • 1 hand ful mint leaves


  • 2 spoon ghee


  • 1 spoon salt

Directions

  • blanch four tomatoes
  • make puree
  • soak one cup basumathi rice
  • in a kadai heat two spoon oil, add jeera, shah jeera, somp, cardamum, cloves, green chillies and chopped garlic
  • add salt chopped onion and saute
  • add frozen peas, one cup water , pinch of turmeric, one cup tomato puree mint leaves and allow it to boil
  • now add soaked rice and cook on low flame. Alternatively you can put it in electric cooker
  • mix ghee and garnish with mint and chopped coriander. serve hot with raita
