Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seed


  • 1/2 cup rosted Onion Flakes


  • 1 cup Masur lentils washed


  • 2 teaspoon oil


  • 1/4 teaspoon Sea Salt


  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric


  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice


  • 3 chopped mint leaves or ⅛ tsp dry mint powder(Opctional)


  • 6 cups water


  • 1 Bay leaf


  • 1/3 tsp Asafoteida


  • 1/2 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder


  • 2 chopped tomato

Directions

  • Heat oil. Add cumin seeds, bay leaf and onions and fry until the cumin changes color add tomato cooked 2-3 min.
  • Add the turmeric powder,chilli powder and Masur lentils washed . Fry for 1 minute.
  • Add water, salt and black pepper.
  • Bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes or until the Masur lentils cooked.
  • Now Add lemon juice to the Daal.
  • To serve, with cooked rice , chapati or pour the daal over the rice. 
  • Garnish with chopped mint leaves and kashmiri red chilli powder.
