Heat oil. Add cumin seeds, bay leaf and onions and fry until the cumin changes color add tomato cooked 2-3 min.
Add the turmeric powder,chilli powder and Masur lentils washed
. Fry for 1 minute.
Add water, salt and black pepper.
Bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes or until the Masur lentils cooked.
Now Add lemon juice to the Daal.
To serve, with cooked rice , chapati or pour the daal over the rice.
Garnish with chopped mint leaves and kashmiri red chilli powder.
