  • 1cup suji

  • 3cups water

  • 1 medium onion roughly chopped

  • 1 big tomato roughly chopped

  • 10-12 penuts

  • 1tsp urad dal

  • 2tblspn ghee/oil

  • 1/2tsp mustard seeds

  • 1/2tsp cumin seeds

  • 1tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 1/2tsp salt

  • 3-4 green chillies finely chopped


  • Dry Roast suji till golden and crisp. Keep aside.
  • take ghee in a wok. Add urad dal, mustard seed, and cuminseeds.
  • Let them splutter, add peanuts and cook for sometime.
  • Add onion, green chillies and cook for 3-4mins.
  • Add tomatoes and cover cook for 5mins.
  • Add turmeric powder and salt. Mix well
  • Add water and give it a nice boil. Taste water for salt and adjust accordingly. Water should be little high in salt.
  • Add suji in batches, continuously stirring so that no lumps are formed.
  • Cover and Cook till suji absorbs all water.
  • Serve hot.
