Ingredients
Serves 4
500 gms raw jackfruit,3/4 cup soaked split Bengal gram (chana dal), 2tbsp oil, 2 black cardamoms, 4 green cardamoms, 3cloves, ginger chopped 1 inch piece, 3 green chillies (chopped), salt to taste , 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1tsp red chilli powder, 1 medium onion chopped, chaat masala to taste, fresh coriander leaves chopped 1/4 cup.
Directions
Apply oil to a knife & peel the jackfruit .Further cut it into two -inch cubes.
Heat oil in a pan. Add black cardamoms, green cardamoms, cloves, ginger,Green chillies, & saute for a mint.Add jackfruit cubes , Chana dal & mix.Add salt, turmeric powder,red chilli powder & just sufficient water.When the mixture comes to a boil reduce the heat & cover.
Cook till jackfruit & chanadal are soft. Drain excess water.
Put the mixture in a blender & grind to make a smooth paste without adding any moisture.Add onions ,chaat masala,coriander leaves & grind again.
Transfer the mixture into a bowl.Greese your palms with oil,take a little mixture & shape into tikkies.
Heat oil in a kadai & deep fry the Tikkies till golden & place on an absorbent paper.Serve hot with green chutney.
