heat one teaspoon oil in a pan
add poppy seeds cloves cinnamon, red chilli and peppercorns. saute for 2 minutes
add onion and grated coconut. saute until coconut turns medium brown. switch off. allow to cool completely
Transfer mixture to grinder, add 1/2 cup water , ginger garlic paste. Grind to smooth paste and keep it aside
Peel and cube potatoes
Heat oil in pressure cooker. Add potatoes and saute for 2 minutes
Add ground paste and mix well for 1 minute
Now add tomato puree, vinegar, turmeric and hing . Mix well. Cook for 1 minute
Add water and salt. Mix well. Bring to boil
Pressure cook until potatoes are tender. Since potatoes are already parboiled, it will take lesser time to cook
Once steam is released, add coriander leaves and mix well.
Serve hot with rice or roti
