Blend green chili, garlic cloves and ginger into coarse paste.
In a nonstick pan, heat oil. Add cumin seeds. Let it splutter. Add asafoetida. Stir it.
Add finely chopped onion and salt. Cook till translucent.
Add green paste. Cook till raw aroma goes away.
Add finely chopped tomato and finely chopped coriander leaves. Cook on low flame until they soften and become mushy.
Add garam masala or chole masala, coriander powder, cumin powder, Red chili powder. Cook for few seconds.
Add boiled, cooked, drained chole. Mix well till it combined well.
Mash using a masher. Mix and cook for a few more seconds. Add 2-3 tbsp water if the mixture is too dry. Let it cool for a few minutes.
Spread some butter on brown bread slices evenly.
Spread mashed spicy chole mixture.
Top with some grated cheese. Cover the top with another buttered bread slice.
Grill them in Electric or any handheld sandwich maker.
Garnish with processed cheese. Cut and serve hot with tomato sauce or any dip.
