Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 250 grams tofu


  • 2 onions


  • 8-10 cashews


  • 1/2 cup curd


  • 2 tbsp cream


  • 2 tbsp oil


  • 1 tsp cumin


  • 1/4 tsp asafetida


  • 1 inch cinnamon


  • 3 cloves


  • 1 bayleaf


  • 2 cardamom


  • 1 tbsp ginger,garlic and chilli paste


  • 1 tsp salt


  • 1 tsp black pepper powder


  • 1/2 tsp garam masala


  • 1/2 tsp kasoori methi


  • 2 tbsp melon seeds

Directions

  • Cut tofu in small squares.
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry the tofu pieces.
  • Chop onions roughly and boil in 1/2 cup water.
  • Boil for 10 to 12 minutes and then it will be done.Let it cool.
  • Add the onions and soaked caahews in mixer jar.Add soaked melon seeds too.
  • Make a smoith paste.
  • Take oil in a pan and add cumin,cloves,cinnamon,bayleaf,cardamom and asafetida.
  • Saute for a minute and add white paste.
  • Saute for 4-5 minutes and add gingergarlic paste
  • When oil leaves from this paste,reduce flame to low and add curd.
  • Saute for a minute and add salt and pepper.
  • Add 1/2 cup water and add garam masala.Also add kasoori methi.
  • When gravy starts simmering add tofu pieces.
  • Cover and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.Lastly add cream and put off the gas.
  • Serve this delicious and protein rich shahi tofu with roti,naan,paratha or as side dish with rice.
