Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Whole wheat flour - 1 cup

  • All purpose flour - 1 cup

  • Fresh yeast or Instant dry yeast - 2 tsp

  • Salt - 1 tsp

  • Oil - 5-6 tbsp

  • Red lentil - 1/3 cup

  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

  • Water - 1 1/2 cup

  • Sugar - 1 tbsp

Directions

    Add 1/3 cup red lentil in a cooker then add turmeric powder, salt to taste and 1/3 cup of water

  • 02

    Close lid and wait for 2 to 3 whistle then turn off gas and allowed to release pressure

    Take out boil red lentil from cooker put in a Blender and blend till smooth..

    Take a bowl add 2 teaspoon fresh or instant dry yeast then add one tablespoon sugar and little lukewarm water mix well till yeast dissolves

    Now add 1 cup whole wheat flour and one cup all purpose flour ,half teaspoon salt and blended red lentil .. then add lukewarm water gradually and knead to a soft dough

    Place dough on a floured surface , add 4-5 tbsp oil little by little .and knead in streach and fold method for 15 minutes

    Grease a bowl with one tablespoon oil , then keep dough in the bowl, cover it and put it in a warm place for one hour or double in size .

    After 1 hour punch back dough. knead dough for 2 to 3 minutes

    Now place dough in a flat surface . spread dough with your hands like a roti.

    now roll dough Like a loaf shape. seal the edges...

    Now keep rolled dough in a greased bread loaf tin.

    Cover bread tin and put it in a warm place for one hour or double in size

    After 1 hour brush bread with little oil

    bake red lentil bread in a preheated oven on 180 degree centigrade for 25 to 30 minutes

    After 30 minutes take out bread from oven and brush with melted butter

    keep bread on a cooling rack .Cover bread and let it cool completely
