Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • Whole Gram - 250 gm


  • Ginger - 1" piece


  • Garlic - 8 cloves


  • Cinnamon stick - 1


  • Cloves - 6


  • Black cardamom - 1/2


  • Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp


  • Whole red chilli - 3 / to taste


  • Kashmiri chilly powder - 1/2 tsp


  • Soya badi - 1/4 cup


  • Onion - 1 medium chopped


  • Egg - 1 (optional)


  • Bread crumbs - 1/4 cup


  • Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp


  • Salt - 1 tsp


  • Oil - 1/4 cup for shallow frying


  • FOR SERVING - Mint chutney - 1/4 cup


  • Tomato sauce - 1/4 cup

Directions

  • Soak gram for 5-6 hours then drain excess water.
  • Put gram, soya badi,onion, ginger- garlic, black cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, cumin seeds, red chilly, salt, 1 cup water in pressure cooker. Cook all ingredients together on medium heat for 2 whistles and reduce heat on low ; again cook for 10 minutes. Switch off the gas station. Cool down completely.
  • Take out cardamom, cinnamon stick, cloves then grind in mixer jar till smooth paste.
  • Now keep mixture in a bowl. Add kashmiri chilly powder, coriander leaves, egg (optional),bread crumbs and stir very well.
  • Now make kababes round or long as per your preference.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Shallow fry kababes both sides till golden brown colour.
  • Serve hot mouth melting kababes with mint dip, tomato sauce and onion salad.
