Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 litre full cream milk


  • 50 gm bajra(pearl millet)


  • 1/2 cup sugar (, adjust according to your taste)


  • 4-5 almonds chopped


  • 4-5 cashew nuts chopped


  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder


  • Saffron strands-8-10


  • 1 tbsp ghee

Directions

  • Mix saffron strands with 1 tsp milk,stir to mix and set aside
  • Soak pearl millet in water for 10 minutes
  • After 10 minutes remove from water,
  • Give millets a very quick pulse in mixer to seperate loosened husk
  • Remove into a big plate,or thali and blow on themto remove the husk
  • Add one table spoon ghee in pressure cooker
  • Fry millet for 2-3 minutes
  • Pressure cook the millet with 2 cup of water for 3-4 whistle
  • In a thick bottom pan or wok add milk and boiled millets
  • Allow it to cook on low flame, stirring continuously
  • It will take 40-45 minutes for millets to cook,as well as Milk to reduce
  • Turn off the flame
  • Add sugar and stir well
  • Add saffron milk,and chopped nuts and cardamom powder
  • Serve hot
