Ingredients

Serves 4

  • 1 cup rice

  • 1/2 cup green moong dal

  • 3 tablespoon ghee

  • 1 cup chopped veggies

  • 1/2 teaspoon tumeric powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds

  • 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida

  • 1 tablespoon mango pickle

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion seeds

  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds

  • 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds

  • 1 teaspoon chopped ginger

  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala

Directions

    In a bowl take rice and moong dal and wash them properly with water.

    Soaked in water for half an hour.

  • 03

    After that drain all water.Heat one tablespoon ghee in a pressure cooker.

    Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, onion seeds, funnel seeds, asafoetida and saute for a minute.

    Add chopped ginger and saute.Add chopped veggies and mix it.

    I used carrot, cauliflower and peas.

    Add turmeric powder,red chilly powder,garam masala and salt and mix well.

    Add soaked rice and moong dal and water and mix it.

  • 09

    Add mango pickle and cover the lid.

  • 10

    Cook for 2 whistles and leave for 10 minutes to cool down pressure.
