Oats rajma soup

  • 4 tomatoes

  • 1/2 cup oats

  • 1/2 cup boiled rajma (kidney beans)

  • 1 onion finely chopped

  • 1 green chilli finely chopped

  • 1 carrot juice

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste

  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce (optional)

  • 1 tsp Salt and pepper or as needed

  • 3 cups vegetable stock or water


  • Cut the tomatoes in cross in bottom and allow them to boil for 3-4 minutes.
  • Peel the skin and chop them.
  • In a pan melt the butter. Add ginger garlic paste and saute for few seconds.
  • Add onion and green chilli. Fry for 30 seconds.
  • Add tomatoes and tomato sauce and fry for 1 minute.
  • Add rajma and fry for 1 minute. Add oats and fry for a minute.
  • Add carrot juice and stir well.
  • Add stock or water and bring it to boil. Then add salt and pepper.
  • Mash some rajma with the help of spoon to thicken the soup.
  • Turn off the flame when you reach to desired consistency.
  • Pour in a serving bowl and serve hot.
