Ingredients

Serves 4

  • 1 cup besan flour

  • 1/2 cup urad dal flour

  • 2 tbsp Ghee

  • Salt to taste or 1/2 tsp

  • Pinch of soda or 1/2 tsp

  • Oil for frying or 2 cups

  • Lukewarm Water - To make the dough or 1/2 cup

Directions

    Sieve the flours and the soda bi-carb together

  • 02

    Add the salt, ghee and mix well.

  • 03

    Now add the warm water slowly and mix well to form a stiff dough.

  • 04

    The dough should be tight and not pliable.

  • 05

    Oil a flat surface. Take the dough and place it on the oiled surface and beat with a  pestle .Repeat the process until it is pliable and its color turns lighter.

    Take a small lemon sized portion of the dough and roll it very thin

    Cut into rectangles of size 1 in x 3 in (approx). It should be so thin that you should be able to see the surface

    Heat the oil for deep frying in medium-high heat.

    Turn over once and fry for few more seconds.

    Drain and remove extra oil.

  • 11

    Sprinkle the salt and chilli powder mixture as soon as it is out of the oil

  • 12

    Allow to cool and start munching.
