Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1/2cup bengal gram/chana dal


  • 21/2cups milk


  • 1tsp cardamom powder


  • 1tbsp.clarified butter/ghee


  • 6-7 seffron threads


  • 2tbsp chopped almonds


  • 2cups of water


  • sugar 4tbsp or as per taste

Directions

  • wash and soak chanadal for 20-25minutes
  • after 25minutes put dal in to the pressure cooker along with 1cup of water and cook it to 3-4whistles
  • heat clarified butter /ghee in a pan add boiled dal in it and saute for few minutes
  • now add milk and cardamom powder to it mix well lower the flame and cook
  • as milk comes to half of its quantity add almonds And seffron to it and mix
  • when the mixture becomes thick add sugar as per your taste mix well cook for another 2-3minutes switch off the flame
  • protien packed kheer is ready serve hot or chilled
