Ingredients

Serves : 6
  • 1 cup soaked chole/kabuli chana


  • 1lemon size tamarind pulp


  • 1 cup tomatoes finely chopped


  • 1 cup onions finely chopped


  • 1 teaspoon salt


  • 1 teaspoon red chilly powder


  • 1 teaspoon chole masala


  • 1 teaspoon garam masala


  • 1 bunch coriander finely chopped


  • 4 tablespoons oil


  • 1 cup water


  • 4 to 5 peppercons


  • 2 to 3 cloves


  • 1 cinnamon stick


  • 1 teaspoon shahi jeera


  • 1 teaspoon kasurimethi


  • 2 tablespoon fresh cream optional


  • 2 tablespoon butter

Directions

  • Soak chole for whole night 🌙 early morning cook them in a pressure cooker by adding cinnamon and clove
  • Few people add tea bag for different taste and color but i prefer the above way
  • Meanwhile in a pan add butter and oil after butter melts add whole spices(cinnamon, clove etc)
  • Later add sliced onions, tomatoes, turmeric, a little salt, cashew and saute them
  • After they are coocked transfer to a mixer jar and allow to cool
  • Later grind them and make smooth paste
  • In other pan add butter and add finely chopped onions and fry till they turn transparent
  • Now add the above grind paste and add seasoning that is salt, turmeric, red chilly powder, garam masala, chole masala and fry them till they release oil then add cream
  • Now add cooked chole and let it boil for 10 min now if you prefer you can add tamarind pulp but already tomatoes are sour in taste u can avoid it if not u can continue to add the pulp
  • After 10min add kasurimethi and switch off the flame and add finely chopped coriander and serve with poori or bhature
