My Little Tamu always keep asking for Dhokla . So we use to make idli dhokla. But Today on valentine's Day. We have done something for her.  Heart Shape Dhokla. For our little heart Tmayara (Tamu)..

Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cup Besan (Gram flour)


  • 1.5 tablespoon Sooji (Semolina)


  • 3/4-1 cup water(batter consistency should be pouring)


  • 1 tablespoon Sugar


  • 1/2 teaspoon ground green chilies (optional)


  • 1 teaspoon Eno (1 packet)


  • 1/2 teaspoon White Vinegar / 1/4 tsp Citric acid


  • 1 pinch of Baking Soda


  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric


  • salt 1/4 tsp or to taste


  • FOR TEMPERING: 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds


  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds


  • 1 teaspoon Sugar


  • 2 tablespoon Water


  • 3 small Green Chilies


  • 1 tablespoon coriander leaves


  • 1 tablespoon Oil

Directions

  • Pour approx. 2-3 cups water in steamer at bottom and heat it over medium flame. Make sure that steamer is at least 4-5 minutes heated before placing the plate (filled with batter) in it.
  • Grease plate using oil.
  • Mix together all the ingredients for the batter except Eno using enough water(3/4-1 cup) to make pouring consistancy batter.
  • Add eno in batter and stir in one direction.You will notice its size would increase to almost double.
  • Now, pour batter immediately into greased plate.
  • Place plate in steamer and steam for 10 minutes over high flame and 5-7 min on medium-low flame.
  • meanwhile make tempering/tadka.
  • Takeout plate from steamer and let them cool for few minutes. Cut fluffy dhokla into small squares using knife.
  • Pour tempering over cut pieces of steamed khaman.
  • Enjoy this delicious Dhokla.
  • No Need of Fermentation as it is Instant Dhokla
