Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • Pachakkaya/Raw banana - 1 kg


  • Chemeen/Prawns - 1/2 kg


  • Shallot - 6 (sliced)


  • Green Chilly - 2 (slit)


  • Curry Leaves - 1sprig


  • Mustard seed - 1/2 teaspoon


  • Dry chilly powder - 1 teaspoon


  • Turmeric Powder - 1/2 teaspoon


  • Chilly powder - 1 tablespoon


  • Salt -2-3 teaspoon to taste


  • Coconut Oil - 21/2 tablespoon

Directions

  • Cut the pachakkaya/raw banana into small pieces and wash it thoroughly.
  • Cook raw banana in water with the 1 pinch of turmeric powder n salt. Once cooked, strain the banana and throw away the water.
  • Heat oil in a pan & add mustard seed, once splutter add sliced shallots, green chilly and curry leaves; saute well.
  • Add the turmeric powder, chilly powder; saute till raw smell goes off.
  • Next, add prawns & salt mix well. Cook for a few minutes till the prawns are well done.
  • Finally, add cooked raw banana/pachakkaya and dry chilly powder. Mix well and cook on low flame for 5 minutes.
