  • 250 gms amla/ gooseberry

  • 200 gms jaggery

  • 1/4 tsp roasted cumin powder

  • 1/4 tsp red chili powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp rock salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder

  • 1/2 tbsp sesame seeds


  • Steam amla/gooseberry for 10-15 minutes and deseed it when cooled down.
  • In a mixer jar, grind amlas to make fine paste.
  • Heat a non stick pan, add amla paste along with all the ingredients except sesame seeds.
  • Cook the paste on medium flame and keep on stirring to avoid sticking at the base or sides of the pan. Add sesame seeds too. Mix nicely . After 10-15 min, jam will be ready.
  • Let it cooled down and store in sterilised mason jar. Its shelf life is 6 months.
  • In winters Gooseberry is available in plenty in India and it provides immunity to our body. It is a rich source of vitamin C. Spread this jam on bread slice or roti or Enjoy it as it is.
