Ingredients

Serves 12

  • Kohlapuri Red chilies 1 1/2 cups

  • big garlic cloves 8-10 nos

  • Water to soak chilies 1 cups

  • unscented vegetable oil 2 tbsp

  • Mustard seeds 1/2 tbsp

  • Asafetida 1/2 tsp

  • Salt according to taste 1 tbsp

Directions

    Soak the red chilies in warm water for an hour to soften.

  • 02

    After soaking drain water from chillies.

  • 03

    Blend the red chilies , garlic, salt and peanuts to a coarse paste. Don't add water during blending.

  • 04

    Now heat oil in a pan, and crackle mustard seeds. Add asafetida and the blended chili paste. Cook until the oil separates out.

  • 05

    This is spiciest Indian chilli sauce . It is full of different flavours i.e. the garlic, crunch from the peanuts. This sauce compliments rice, chapati , dal and dosa too.
