  • 1 cup Rice

  • 4 cup water

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 1 pinch of baking soda

  • 1/2 cup sabudana


  • Firstly Take the rice and wash throughly 2 to 3 times.
  • Next in bid vessel add washed rice and soak 6-8 hours. soak sabudana up to 1 hour it is washed and just sprinkling the some water to sabudana. don't fully dipped in water.
  • After drain the rice and transfer to the mixi jar.
  • Now grind to smooth paste , it becomes thick batter.
  • Further in the big vessel heat water.
  • In the water add salt, soda, mix well and cover it then allow to boil the water.
  • When boiling water and sabudana, next add grinded rice batter little by little, dont add once time to all batter. because it forms a big lumps in water.
  • Saute continuously. While take the water in double quantity of rice. because rice absorbs more water.
  • Rice batter should be become soft and thick consistency.
  • Now remove from heat and add cumin seeds mix well. Then cool it completely
  • Next take the chakali maker and put in the star mould in it.
  • After take the prepared rice mixture(dough) and make the chakali or your desired shapes on dry cloth or polythene paper cover .
  • Repeat this process to all. Lastly dry them in under sunlight for 2-3 days.
  • When the papads dry , they won't stick to the cloth. Its removed easily. And store in airtight containers.
  • Whenever you want take the papad and Heat the oil, air frying the papads .
  • Serve with tea, or festive season lunch. or any time.
