A simple recipe which is non spicy and an absolute delight to kids. This dish won my mom the 1st prize in international trade fair cooking competition held at Guwahati (Assam) about a decade back.

Ingredients
Serves : 4
500 gms chicken cut into medium pieces
1 cup yoghurt (sweetened / mishti doi)
1/2 cup channa dal (split chickpeas)
10-12 garlic cloves
1 cup refined oil
1 tablespoon salt (or according to taste)
2-3 slit green chillies (optional) for garnishing
Directions
Heat oil in a non-stick cookware
add the chicken and fry it in medium flame till golden brown
Grind the chana dal/split chickpeas (dont add water) and add it to the chicken. Stir fry it for 5 minutes.
Whip the yoghurt and add it to the chicken in low flame. Stir fry it and cover the lid. Keep stirring from time to time till chicken is tender.
Crush the garlic cloves and add it to the chicken. Cover the lid and cook for 2-3 minutes.
