Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • Kada/ Quail - 4 (nos)


  • Shallot -20 (sliced)


  • Ginger - 1piece(sliced)


  • Garlic - 3cloves


  • Green Chilly - 2 (slit)


  • Curry Leaves - 1sprig


  • Tomato -1(chopped)


  • Coriander Powder - 1tbsp


  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 teaspoon


  • Garam masala -2tsp


  • Pepper powder - 1 teaspoon


  • Salt -2-3 teaspoon to taste


  • Coconut Oil - 21/2 tablespoon


  • :: For Marinate:: Chilly powder - 1tbsp


  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon


  • Pepper powder - 1tsp


  • Salt -11/2 teaspoon

Directions

  • Cut the kada/quail into 4 pieces and wash it thoroughly.
  • Marinate the quail in the above-mentioned ingredients (for frying) and keep aside for 30 mins.
  • Heat oil in a pan & shallow fry kada/quail, keep aside.
  • In the same oil, add sliced shallots, ginger, garlic, green chilly & curry leaves; saute well.
  • Add the turmeric powder, garam masala powder, coriander powder & pepper powder; saute till raw smell goes off. Next, add sliced tomato & mix well.
  • Add some hot water, cook for few minutes till the tomato is well done. Add salt to taste.
  • Once the gravy is ready, add fried quail and mix well. Next, add some hot water & salt to taste. Mix well and cook on low flame till the gravy thickens.
