Vermicilli Kunafa (Arabic Dessert)

  • 125 gms grams vermicelli

  • 150 gms mozzarella cheese

  • 50 gms butter

  • 1 cups sugar

  • 1 tbsp cardamom powder

  • 8-10 nos almond and pista for garnishing

  • 2 drop orange colour

  • 1 tbsp butter for baking dish


  • break Vermicelli into small pieces and mix it with butter nicely
  • add butter and two drops of orange colour in a baking dish and spread nicely.
  • Now add buttered vermicelli in it and press it nicely.
  • now add grated Mozzarella cheese on it and press from top and bake in preheated oven at 200 degree Celsius for 25 minutes.
  • for making sugar syrup add cardamom powder in warm water for 5 minutes.
  • Strain the water and add 1 cup sugar and lemon juice and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • the sugar syrup is ready keep it aside.
  • when the Kunafa is nicely baked, let it sit for 5 minutes and then invert it on the serving dish.
  • Garnish it with almond and pista.
