Tricoloured Bread paneer pakode with oriental sauce are quick and easy to prepare.  These tricoloured pakode are a great snack option to serve on the occasion of National festival.

Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • Paneer Stuffing - 250 grams paneer


  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala


  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder


  • 2 teaspoon green chutney


  • 2 tablespoons hot and sweet tomato ketchup


  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped coriander (dhania)


  • 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste


  • For the Batter- 3/4 cup besan


  • 1/3 cup water


  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder (haldi)


  • 1/4 teaspoon chilli powder


  • 2 pinch asafoetida (hing)


  • 1/4 teaspoon salt or to taste


  • 4 whole wheat bread slices


  • 1 cup oil for deep-frying

Directions

  • Cut paneer into bread size square, mix salt, chaat masala, chilli powder and coriander , and sprinkle on paneer slices.
  • Place a slice of bread on a , dry surface and spread tomato ketchup, then place a slice of paneer over it.
  • Spread green chutney on another bread slice and place over it, press lightly and cut it diagonally into 2 equal pieces.
  • Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make 2 more pieces.
  • Prepare besan batter of medium consistency by adding water.
  • Dip each piece in the batter till it is evenly coated from all the sides, slide in hot oil and deep-fry on a medium flame till the pakodas turn golden in colour and crisp from both the sides. Drain on absorbent paper.
  • Serve hot with tomato ketchup or oriental sauce and crispy wafers
