  • Semolina 1 cup

  • Thick yoghurt 1/2 cup

  • Carrot 1

  • Tomato 1

  • Spinach 1 bunch

  • Coriander leaves 1/2 cup

  • Green chilies 2

  • Grated coconut 1/2 cup

  • Salt 1 tbs

  • Chaat masala 1 tbs

  • Black pepper 1 tbs

  • Baking soda 1/2 tbs


  • First of all add semolina in a mixing bowl , then pour thick yoghurt. Now whisk the mixture very well by adding 1 cup of water. Batter will be runny but after resting, it will absorb water and become thick.
  • Now add salt and baking powder and whisk very well. Set aside for 20 minutes.
  • Now wash, clean, grate and chop the veggies. In one bowl add chop tomato, carrot , salt , chaat masala and mix. Now in another bowl pour green chilies, chopped spinach, coriander leaves, salt, chaat masala and mix. Keep aside.
  • Now preheat the pan and brush some oil. Now start making uttapam by taking two laddle of mixture and spread over the pan. Next start spreading veggies firstly red colour(carrot tomato) then in the bottom green( spinach coriander) and in middle spread grated coconut. Now spread some black pepper on the top.
  • Now cover it with lid and cook for 10 minutes in low flame so that veggies will cook perfectly.
  • Now when its done take the uttapam out and repeat the process to make other uttapams.
  • Serve hot with green chutney or sauce.
