Tricolour Milk Powder Barfi

Serves : 3
  • Milk Powder- 1cup

  • Milk-1/4 cup

  • Clarified butter(ghee)-1/2tablespoons

  • Cottage cheese (paneer)-50 gm grated

  • Cardamom powder- 1/4teaspoon

  • Fresh cream or malai- 1tablespoons

  • Sugar- 2tablespoons or according to taste

  • Green food colour- 2 drops

  • Orange food colour- 2 drops

  • Chopped pistachios- 1/2tablespoons


  • First heat ghee in a wok (don't over heated)
  • Now add milk
  • Now immediately add milk powder and mix it well so that there is no lumps.
  • Now add all remaining ingredients (grated paneer, Sugar,malai,Cardamom powder ) and mix them very well
  • Now stir it continue on slow flame till you get barfi consistency
  • Now switch off the flame and cool it completely
  • Now divide the barfi mixture into three equal parts
  • Add green colour in one part
  • Add Orange colour in second part
  • Third part is white itself
  • Now grease a tin with ghee
  • Layered the green barfi mixture in bottom
  • Now layered the white mixture
  • Now on top layered the orange mixture
  • Now set it for 1 or 2 hours
  • Now cut into pieces and garnish with chopped pistachios
