Wash clean and slice strawberries, taste them for sourness. Mine were not too sour so I added 2 tablespoons sugar and tossed the berries in them. you could add more accordingly.
Put all the butter into a square glass baking pan 10 by 10 inch. keep in the preheating pan, so that butter will melt
In a bowl whisk flour and baking powder and keep aside
In a large mixing bowl, mix other ingredients, milk, sugar and vanilla essence.
Add flour and fold gently
Pour this batter in the pan directly over the butter
Evenly spread the berries on this batter
Dot the berries with teaspoons of cream-cheese.
Bake for 45-50 minutes till the crust is golden brown
