Soft cake with butter and vanilla

  • 250 gms Butter

  • 1 teaspoon Sprig Vanilla extract

  • 275 gms castor sugar

  • 3 eggs

  • 335 gms self rising flour

  • 180 ml milk

  • 4 drops of brown colour

  • 7 of egg yellow colour

  • 1/2 cup strawberry preserve


  • Preheat oven to 180 degree
  • Grease two cake pan lined with parchment paper
  • Beat butter extract ans sugar in medium bowl with electric mixer till light and fluffy,
  • Beat in eggs one at a time, Stir in sifted flour and milk in two batches
  • Separate 1/3 of the batter and few drops of brown colour and keep aside. In the 2/3 add few drops of egg yellow colour
  • Transfer the batter into two pans and bake the yellow and brown batter in separate pans for 50 to 55 minutes.
  • Remove from oven, let the cake stand in pan for 5 minutes.
  • Now cut the yellow batter cake into two equal parts.
  • Place one part of the yellow cake and spread the strawberry preserve.
  • Next place the brown cake and above to it, spread the remaining strawberry preserve.
  • Place the second yellow cake and cut into pieces.
