  • Whole wheat flour 2 cups

  • Jaggery powder 1.25 cup

  • Baking powder 1 teaspoon

  • Baking soda 1/3 teaspoon

  • Walnut powder 1 tablespoon

  • Milk 1 cup

  • Unscented oil 1/4 cup

  • Sprig vanilla extract 1 teaspoon


  • Sieve wheat flour, baking powder and baking soda twice and keep aside.
  • Now add walnut powder and vanilla extract in dry ingredients and mix nicely.
  • Add milk, oil and jaggery powder in a jar . Blend it nicely so that everything Incorporated nicely.
  • Now add milk mixture in dry ingredients gradually in 3 batches to make lump free batter.
  • Grease and dust cake mould . Pour batter in it and tap it twice. Bake at 180 degrees for 40 minutes in preheated oven.
  • Do toothpick test. If it comes clean then cake is ready. Now Keep aside to cool for only 5 minutes.
  • Garnish cake with walnuts and chocolate syrup. serve immediately.
  • Mom used to serve this cake warm. This cake tastes best , when its warm.
