  • 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup oil

  • 1 cup milk

  • 2 tsp vinegar

  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

  • 1 cup dark chocolate

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup sugar syrup

  • 8-10 whole cherries

  • 5-6 chocolate pieces


  • Sieve the dry ingredients flour,cocoa powser,sugar,baking soda and salt and keep aside
  • Put vinegar in milk and leave aside for 2-3 mins
  • Then add oil and vanilla essence to it and mix well.
  • Slowly fold all the dry ingredients in wet ones.
  • Pour the mix in a greased and lined loaf pan or square pan and bake in preheated oven at 180 degree Celsius for 30-35 mins .
  • To make ganache,put chocolate and cream in a microwave safe dish and microwave for a pulse of 30 seconds at a time till the cream is warm.
  • Take it out,cover and leave for a min and then whisk nicely till the chocolate melts.
  • Let the ganache and cake both cool down.
  • Cut the cake into rectangle or triangle shapes whatever you prefer.
  • Slice each into half and pour some sugar syrup on top.
  • Spread some ganache on the lower half and then cover it with top half.
  • Spread some sugar syrup on it too and then coat with ganache.
  • Garnish with whole cherries and chocolate pieces and refrigerate for an hour before serving
