In a large mixing bowl add oil, sugar, yoghurt , vanilla essence , salt and apple jelly(1/2 cup).
Mix very well and sieve flour , baking powder and baking soda thrice. Now pour dry ingredient into wet mixture laddle by laddle and combine. Add milk as required to make a smooth batter.
Now grease the deep sauce pan with butter and dust some flour. Now pour the batter filled upto half of the sauce pan.
Baking technique is different ; place the tawa on low flame and now place the sauce pan filled with batter and cover the lid.
Bake the cake for 45 minutes. Dont check inbetween and check after 45 minutes with toothpick.
Allow the cake to cool down for about 15 minutes. Then demould the cake and place on the rack to cool completely.
Now place the prepared cake on the serving plate , apply apple jelly on the walls of cake and sprinkle powdered sugar on the top. Decorate with sprinkles and cherries.
Slice the cake and serve.
