Ingredients

Serves : 8
  • 1 1/2 cup flour


  • 1 cup yougurt


  • 3/4 cup sugar


  • 1/2 cup oil


  • 1 1/4 tsp baking powder


  • 1/2 tsp baking soda


  • 1 tsp red gel colour/ 1 tbsp liquid red colour


  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder


  • 1 tsp sprig vanilla extract

Directions

  • Preheat oven at 180°C.
  • Shift flour, cocoa powder and baking powder together, 3-4 times.
  • In a separate bowl add sugar and yogurt. Mix well till sugar dissolve.
  • Now add colour and baking soda to it and mix. Leave for 5 minutes
  • Now add oil, sprig vanilla extract and mix well.
  • Add dry and wet ingredients with a spatula using cut and fold method.
  • Pour the batter in greased and lined pan and tap to release any air bubble trapped.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 30-35 mins or till skewer inserted in middle of cake comes out clean.
  • Remove from oven and let it rest for 5 mins in pan then invert on a wire rack and cool completely before decorating with your favorite icing.
