Ingredients

Serves : 10
  • plain flour 1& 1/2 cup


  • Cocoa powder 1/4 cup


  • Instant coffee powder 1 teaspoon


  • Baking powder 1 teaspoon


  • Baking soda 1 teaspoon


  • Melted butter or oil 1/4 cup


  • Castor sugar 1 cup


  • Milk 1 cup


  • Vinegar 2 teaspoons


  • Vanilla extract or essence 1 teaspoon

Directions

  • In a bowl add milk and vinegar and leave aside for few minutes. Preheat your oven @180C.
  • Meanwhile mix all dry ingredients, flour, cocoa powder, coffee powder, baking powder and soda. You can also sieve everything to avoid lumps in batter.
  • In the milk mixture add in butter, sugar vanilla extract and beat well.
  • Add flour to this mixture in 2-3 batch and fold gently.
  • Once everything is well incorporated pour batter in a loaf tin. I used a 4×9 inch tin for this cake. Add water if batter looks very thick.
  • Cool the cake tin for 7-10 minutes over a cooling rack.
  • Invert the cake on the wire rack and let it cool for some time or serve warm to your family and friends
