  • Maida / Flour 1 cup

  • Baking Powder 1 tsp

  • Baking Soda 1/2 Tsp

  • Malai 1/2 Cup

  • Sugar 1/2 Cup

  • Milk 1/2 Cup

  • Butterscotch Essence 1 tsp

  • Whipped Cream 250 gms

  • Praline / cashewnut chikki 1/2 Cup and few pieces for decoration

  • Suagr syrup 1/4 Cup for soaking cake

  • Butterscotch Syrup 1/4 Cup


  • First of all we need to bake our butterscotch sponge.
  • Preheat the oven at 180 Degree for 10 minutes or preheat the cooker on low flame for 10 minutes.
  • In a big bowl add malai and sugar mix well and keep aside.
  • In another bowl sieve maida, baking powder and baking soda and keep aside.
  • Now mix the sugar amd cream batter add butterscotch essence and half of the milk and mix well.
  • Add flour mixture and rest of milk gradually and ake a smooth batter.
  • Pour the ready batter in a greased 7 inch cake tin. Tap well to avoid air bubbles.
  • Bake at 180 degrees for 30-35 minutes or untill toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool down the cake completely before icing.
  • Now 8n whipped cream add 2-3 tblspns of butterscotch essence and mix well.
  • Cut the cake in 3 layers.
  • Soak 1st cake layer with some sugar syrup and apply butterscotch whipped cream evenly.
  • Put some praline over the cream and cover with the second cake layer.
  • Repeat the same process.
  • Now put the last cake layer and cover the cake completely with cream.
  • Make design using whipped cream and pour some butterscotch sauce over the cake.
  • Decorate with praline and your cake is ready.
  • Keep in the fridge at for 1 hour before cutting and serving.
