  • 1 cups milk for soaking

  • 2 cups dates

  • 2 cups wheat flour

  • 1/4 cups yoghurt

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 cups milk

  • 1 tsp sprig natural bourbon vanilla


  • soak chopped dates in hot milk for 30 to 45 minutes.
  • blend them well.
  • in a bowl add dates paste, olive oil, yoghurt and blend smooth till well combined.
  • in a separate bowl add wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and mix nicely
  • now add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and blend them properly
  • add milk, vanilla essence and whisk till smooth consistency and then add chopped walnuts and dates and mix by way of cut and fold method with the help of a spatula
  • preheat oven at 180 degrees for 10 minutes
  • transfer the batter into a greased loft tin and sprinkle chopped Walnuts on top and bake at 180 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes till toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • let the cake come to room temperature before De-moulding
