Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • Mint 1/2 bunch


  • Channa dal - 1 cup soaked and drained


  • Green chilly 4


  • Chilli powder - 1 teaspoon (optional)


  • Chaat masala - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)


  • Salt 1/4 teaspoon or to taste


  • Rice flour 3 tablespoon


  • 2 tablespoon Fennel Seeds


  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon


  • Lime - juice of 1/2 lime


  • Ginger 1 inch

Directions

  • Soak channa dal for at least 4-5 hrs or overnight. Then Drain and keep aside.
  • Grind the channa dal coarsely without adding any water.
  • Make a paste of the Ginger & green chillies and mix it to the ground channa dal.
  • Add rice flour, turmeric powder, fennel seeds, chopped mint leaves, red chilli powder and salt. Mix well.
  • Make round tiny balls/ kebabs of the above mixture. Keep it ready and set aside.
  • Heat the Appe pan, brush each mould with oil and Put the prepared balls/ kebabs in it.
  • Cook on medium flame till they are golden brown in color.
  • Serve hot with some tomato ketchup / green chutney and a hot cup of masala chai.
